The UN Family has contributed to the development and improvement of national and local governance structures through convening the first-ever High-Level Roundtable as a platform for dialogue, development of a Governance Issues Paper. The High-Level workshops are part of an overall strategy of accelerating service delivery and enhancing leadership through inclusive reform, improved legislative and policy environment for decentralization resulting in increased transfer of functions from central to local governments, and other capacity building measures such as foresight and scenario building initiatives.
