UN Lesotho staff made it possible for this year’s UN Games to be held in the beautiful country of Lesotho – the Kingdom in the Sky.
UN Lesotho hosted almost 500 UN staff and supporters from South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Angola, Mozambique, Kenya, Mali and The Democratic Republic of Congo to participate in the 2017 UN Games.
UN staff of all 11 countries competed in sports such as Athletics, Soccer, Netball, Ballroom Dancing, Tennis, Volleyball, Darts, Snooker, plus Egg racing and Sack racing.
These UN Games have been very special. The UN Lesotho Team was the winner of the 2016 UN Games held in Zimbabwe, and 2017 is the 10th Anniversary of the UN Games, which started their journey in Eastern and Southern Africa. And it all began here in Lesotho.
