Guidelines: National Referral Mechanism for the Protection of VOTs
INTRODUCTION
The Government of Lesotho is implementing efforts to address Trafficking in Persons (TIP), including to prevent and identify TIP cases and enhance the protection of victims of TIP. This document, the Lesotho National Referral Mechanism for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking Guidelines (hereinafter, the NRM Guidelines), supports this national response. The NRM Guidelines, as well as the complementary accompanying NRM flow-chart (see Annex V of this document), set out the stages of protection assistance for Victims of Trafficking (VOTs), including mechanisms for identification, services to be provided, and actors involved at each stage.
This document is intended to be comprehensive and user-friendly; it is developed in line with international standards and reflects the national context, structures, legislation and needs of the Kingdom of Lesotho, building on an earlier draft NRM, developed by the Government of Lesotho.
